On Saturday 4th March, local residents, keen to improve the local area, met to form the Friends of Stamford Road group. The first meeting was attended by 16 people who suggested lots of ideas such as improving visibility by removing the front wall, running activities at the park and giving ownership to the community by creating a garden.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 9th March at 7pm at Diamond Build's offices on Stamford Road, adjacent to the park. Diamond Build are hoping to re-develop their current HQ, and their plans include flexible, affordable workspace, a new building for Diamond Build and 48 new homes for the community. There will be significant Section 106 contributions made if the proposals receive planning permission. They would like these to go to the immediate local area if possible, and are thrilled that the Friends group has been set up, as this should make it easier for the Council to direct these funds to local projects.
Diamond Build love being part of the local community in Tottenham, and are excited that this park could once again become a valuable asset for the local area.
If you would like to get involved, please come along to the meeting tomorrow to learn more!
